Bobby Breen Hard Charger of 2008 Heading Into Stretch Run

Rich Vleck, TULSA, Okla. (August 13, 2008)- Still eight races remaining in the 2008 season, which means it’s still anybody’s guess at who will pick up Hard Charger honors at the end, but it is a pair of youngsters with double-B initials who have find themselves up front.

Bobby Breen, of Savannah, NY, leads Bubba Broderick, of Brookfield, CT, 35-33 in the Bear Paw Hand Cleaner Hard Charger of the Season presented by Gater News Online. The teenagers have been able to rally from precarious situations on a number of occasions this year and post quality finishes, helping out their position in these standings.


Six competitors at the top are separated by a mere eight points, including defending series Champion and Hard Charger Chuck Hebing, and current point leader Bryan Howland, who are tied in third with 31 points. Past hard charger Jared Zimbardi and defending Rookie of the Year Scott Kreutter are also deep in the hunt.

Even though the sun has began to set on the season, still eight races main to be run five different facilities. Hard charger points are tabulated in ASCS Patriot Features only, rewarding points to only those that improve on their position from start to finish.

The top-three will share the point fund at the year-end banquet. In the first three years, Jared Zimbardi, Don Adamczyk and Chuck Hebing have captured top honors.
